Youth Ministries Team
James & Jennifer Barnes
Youth President
James and Jennifer were married in December of 2010 and the two have been serving in youth ministry together since. There is nothing they enjoy more than spending time with their two daughters, Emma and Anna. They currently serve as Youth Pastors at Bethel Christian Center in Havre De Grace, Maryland. James is an Ordained minister in the United Pentecostal Church International and works as an Assistive Technology Professional. Jennifer received her Master’s Degree in Education and is employed through the Harford County Public School System. It’s their desire to see EVERY young person in the MD/DC District actively involved in Apostolic ministry in their local church, on their jobs, and on their high school or college campus.

Drew & Rachel Keatts
Youth Secretary
Drew Keatts has served in various roles in local youth ministry for 13 years, serving as the Youth Director at Abundant Life Church from 2016 to 2019. Drew currently serves as the Production and Social Media Team Leader at Abundant Life Church. He has served on the Maryland/DC District youth committee since 2014. He and his wife Rachel Keatts are Baltimore natives and feel that this is where God has called them to serve in His kingdom for the rest of their lives. In October of 2020, they welcomed their son, Louis Elliott Keatts. They enjoy a good cup of coffee, city life and spoiling their labradoodle, Macie Grey Keatts. Drew and Rachel Keatts love investing in young people and believe that one of the greatest privileges in life is to empower and equip people to reach their full potential for the glory of God!

Jalen & Esther Mauk
Director of Promotions
Jalen and Esther Mauk currently serve as the Youth Pastors at Antioch Central. They have a tremendous burden for the youth of today. It is their hope and desire to equip and help young people become all that God has called them to be. Along with that, they lead the media department at Antioch Central, working to spread the whole gospel to the whole world through digital means. On a daily basis, Jalen works full-time for Antioch and Esther is a real estate agent with NDG Home Team. In their free time they enjoy playing board games, going on Chick-fil-A dates, trying new coffee shops, and spending time with their family and friends.

Michael & Melissa McGurk
CMI Director
Mike and Melissa McGurk are the Campus Ministry leaders at Antioch, The Apostolic Church. Mike is also the Director of Training for the CMI National Team with over 10 years of experience in campus ministry. They are believing for a mighty harvest in the schools of MDDC! Mike and Melissa love to travel, especially overseas. Ice cream is their go-to; you may find them at Rita’s Italian Ice often during the warmer months.

Nathaniel & Leticia Lettman
P7 Director
Nathaniel and Leticia Lettman serve on the Youth Leadership Team at Christian Life Center and also enjoy being a part of Music Ministry. In their secular careers, Nathan works with his parents’ family business and at an Emergency Youth Shelter and Leticia is a secretary for a Head Start Program. They enjoy teaching bible studies, traveling internationally, and driving on backroads, taking in the beauty of nature together.

Candise Hill
Hyphen Director
Candise Hill hails from Detroit, Michigan and now attends Abundant Life Church in Baltimore, Maryland where she serves as the Evangelism Director. Candise is also the Northeast Regional Women’s Director for the UPCI Building the Bridge Ministry. She has a heart for youth and young adults, which is why she absolutely loves serving the MDDC Youth as District Hyphen Director. Other things that keep Candise impassioned and engaged are urban education, outreach, travel, and adventure with her family and friends.

Shalon Clevenger
Bible Quizzing Director
Shalon came to Maryland/DC district in the early 2000s with a passion for the Word of God and for youth. Since 2012, she has led the local Bible Quizzing ministry under the direction of Pastor David Reever at Abundant Life Baltimore and has served on other ministry teams for children, youth, and music. Currently, she also leads Abundant Life’s small group ministry. She holds a B.A. in English from Towson University and an Advanced Degree with Purpose Institute—an Apostolic Bible college with satellite campuses worldwide. For Shalon, the Word is a family affair. Her daughters, Julia and Jordyn, also serve in various ministries including youth ministry support. Ask Shalon about her testimony. She lives to tell of the goodness of God and how the power of His Word transformed—and continues to transform—her life! Her desire is to equip students with the Word and faith to minister now, to every generation under the sound of their voice!

Wyatt & Emily Bridges
Section 1 Representative
Wyatt and Emily Bridges live on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. They are part of Acts The Apostolic Church where they are currently Youth Pastoring. They have worked in many aspects of Youth Ministry for several years and now serve the MDDC District as Sectional Representatives for the Youth Department.Wyatt and Emily enjoy Chick-fil-A, Thrift Shopping, and Spending time with family and friends. They are excited about being part of the sweeping revival that is taking hold of this generation.

Kasey & LaShonda DeSouza
Section 4 Representative
Kasey and LaShonda DeSouza serve as the Youth Pastors of Christian Life Chapel in Hagerstown, MD. At a young age, they both felt a call to youth ministry and they served as youth leaders at Christian Life Center. Not long after getting married in 2015, they felt the call to transition to Christian Life Chapel and have been serving there for 4 years. They have a burden for the youth of this district and are privileged to be able to serve and invest in young people's lives. They have two beautiful children, Sawyer and Benjamin DeSouza. They enjoy quality family time, traveling, and spontaneous drives.
